Outline

Theme of 2013

This year's theme "The Exquisite Hour" is quoted from "White Moon", a poem by Paul Verlaine, who is one of the most famous French poets of the late 19th century. (French composers like Faurè and Hahn made beautiful melodies for this poem.) As the capital of the arts, Paris flourished in the 19-20th century. Many artists gathered in Paris and created amazing works. Renè Martin intends to re-create that "Exquisite hour for artists" at this year's Festival. Renè introduces you to French composers----Bizet, Debussy, Ravel, Satie, and Boulez. He also focused on Spain. Spanish artists learned in exquisite Paris, and French artists were influenced by glamour Spanish arts. This chemistry between France and Spain is the spice of 2013's theme.
